EBS Onboarding Project 2018
Get off to a flying start with well-known car manufacturers during the EBS Onboarding Project

A sensational, first-time EBS module to mark the beginning of the semester in August: the EBS Onboarding Project. In the first three weeks of their bachelor’s degree, around 100 students in eleven teams will be developing concepts for the successful introduction of autonomous driving in Germany. This will not only give them the opportunity to get to know the university, but they can also establish initial contacts with experts from the automotive industry.

Whether “Robotaxis”, autonomous buses or autonomous trucks: autonomous driving is currently THE topic of heated discussions and is causing a great deal of uncertainty in one of the most important German industries. As a prelude to the BWL bachelor’s programme, the EBS is now offering its students the unique opportunity, over a period of three weeks, to conduct a “real life” case study on the market launch of autonomous driving in Germany. They will be assigned to three companies from different sectors, working on the case from that company’s perspective.

Students and companies get to know each other: a win-win situation for all

In addition to the introductory lectures, students can look forward to keynote speeches by EBS alumni and other experts from the field. For example, a partner of the law firm Clifford Chance LLP will introduce them to the topic’s legal aspects and representatives of Daimler and Porsche will present their approach to the issue during the onboarding field trip to Stuttgart. Together with university alumni, who now work for companies such as moovel and Roland Berger, they will not only be contributing their own views on the case, but also be providing basic knowledge and contextual impulses.

At the end of the three weeks, it’s time to get down to business: The groups present their results to a jury of professors and experts from the field who select the winner of the case study. Here, companies have the direct opportunity to get to know the young professionals of tomorrow and to win them over. With this unique concept, EBS is not only preparing its students for their studies but at the same time also introducing them to the challenges of the business world. This way, EBS students feel well looked after from day one and are well prepared for their future career!
