“Hochschulperle” of the Month for the Siemens Product Innovation Lab

The Stifterverband has awarded the Siemens Product Innovation Lab at EBS Universität the Hochschulperle of the Month for July 2025. The Lab is a prime example of how close collaboration between a global industrial corporation and a university can succeed.

Since 2020, EBS students and researchers have been working with Siemens on real-world innovation challenges. This partnership provides exceptional access to internal corporate data, processes, and decision-making structures – an ideal foundation for practice-oriented teaching and doctoral projects with high scientific relevance.

One of the Lab’s recent achievements is the research project “Platformization in the MedTech Industry.” Together with Siemens Healthineers, the University of California, Berkeley, and Kaunas University of Technology, EBS examined the digital transformation process of Siemens Healthineers. The result: a widely recognized scientific publication demonstrating how industry and academia can successfully tackle digital transformation challenges together.
