Consistently sustainable
As a university with a strong set of values, sustainability is an essential component of everything we do. On both a large and small scale.

To make a difference in the world
With their areas of activity in teaching and learning, research, transfer, operations, infrastructure and governance, universities play a central role in the sustainable development of society as a whole.
EBS University is also committed to developing and communicating solutions for sustainable business practices in these various areas of activity. Numerous study and continuing education programmes deal with the economic and legal framework conditions of ecological transformation and the social challenges that need to be overcome in the process. Scientific findings and approaches are translated into practical solutions with project partners from business and politics.
EBS University is also pursuing the goal of sustainable university development in its own operations. It has set itself the goal of converting its processes to a climate-neutral economy by 2030. To this end, EBS has, among other things, drawn up its first greenhouse gas balance sheet for 2023 and had it confirmed in a greenhouse gas audit. At the same time, a sustainability strategy was drafted, which will result in a comprehensive sustainability report that will track progress in achieving the goals on an annual basis.
In order to effectively promote sustainability issues, EBS is a member of various sustainability networks such as the Sustainability Rhine-Nahe Alliance (nRNA), PRME working groups, the regional CSR Regio.Net Wiesbaden and the SRH working group of sustainability managers.
In addition, many of the sustainability topics at EBS University are bundled at the EBS Sustainability Management Chair and the Impact Institute.
