On 20 May 2025, an international doctoral seminar on non-profit law took place on the Schloss campus of EBS Universität in Oestrich-Winkel. In two parallel groups, 13 doctoral students from Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland presented their dissertation projects and discussed topics such as capital maintenance for foundations, the non-profit trust in Liechtenstein and the principle of equal treatment under association law with Birgit Weitemeyer, Arnd Arnold, Ulrich Burgard, Gregor Roth, Francesco Schurr and Ulrich Segna. The seminar in the Rheingau was followed by a joint visit to the German Foundation Day in Wiesbaden. The seminar, organised by the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial and Business Law, Law of Non-Profit Organisations (Prof. Dr. Ulrich Segna) and sponsored by the Federal Association of German Foundations and the Esche Schümann Commichau Foundation, was an impressive example of the close exchange between academia and practice in the field of civil society.
