What are the advantages of mobile marketing? How gets data-based information professionally prepared? How can cross-media campaigns be controlled? With the new specialisation Digital Marketing in our Master in Management programme, we are adding another important focus to our range of courses,” explains Dr Dorothée Hofer, Managing Director EBS Universität.
The Master’s programme is ideal for all those who have already completed their first degree in a business administration field and for specialist “career changers” interested in digital marketing. Students study for two semesters at EBS Universität in Oestrich-Winkel before moving to California for one semester to the renowned continuing professional education faculty at the University of California Berkeley, located in the dynamic San Francisco/Silicon Valley area. Students benefit from the close connection to Silicon Valley during this period. They are also expected and offered the opportunity to build networks with executives in innovative companies and are encouraged to do their mandatory internship here. The syllabus at UC Berkeley supports the students in meeting relevant companies and practitioners in the field of digital marketing. Master’s thesis can also written in conjunction with leading companies in the field.
Contents of the study programme
For success in cross-media marketing, a comprehensive foundation of knowledge in the preparation, analysis and use of relevant digital data is important. In the first two semesters students learn all the basics of digital marketing and deal with the fields of product management, brand management, consumer behaviour, digital strategy and technology and customer relationship management. Teaching is interdisciplinary and follows the EBS modular-integrative concept.
In the third semester, students switch to Berkeley Global, the continuing professional education faculty at University of California Berkeley. There they benefit from an innovative programme of studies taught by leading experts, practitioners from the San Francisco/Silicon Valley area. Students focus in particular on all aspects of e-commerce, social media marketing strategy, marketing data visualization, marketing data analysis tools and technologies as well as product and market launch strategies and have the opportunity to participate in many events hearing from and networking with executives from innovative companies in the region.
