CHE Ranking 2026: Students once again rate EBS Universität very highly
Students at EBS Universität continue to benefit from excellent study conditions. This is shown by the latest university ranking from the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE), which was published today.

Both EBS Business School and EBS Law School have once again achieved excellent ratings in numerous categories, confirming the high level of satisfaction among their students.
The CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed comparison of higher education institutions in the German-speaking world. It includes the opinions of over 120,000 students on the study conditions at their university and facts on study programmes, teaching, facilities and research in around 40 subjects at more than 300 universities. Every year, a third of the subjects are re-evaluated. This year, law, economics and social work were examined.
EBS Business School impresses with its personalised support and strong practical focus
In the field of Business Administration, B.A.-students rate the support provided by teaching staff (4.6 stars), the organisation of the programme (4.6 stars) and the range of courses on offer (4.6 stars) as particularly positive. The overall study environment is also rated as excellent, with 4.5 stars.
Particularly noteworthy is the strong practical and career focus of EBS Business School. Students award this a very good 4.5 stars. A key component of the study programmes at EBS is ‘Challenge-Based Learning’. Right from the start of their studies, students work together with corporate partners on real-world case studies, thereby learning early on to apply theoretical knowledge to concrete challenges from the workplace. Small study groups and close interaction with lecturers create a personalised learning environment with individual support.
Through the Career Services Centre, students receive personalised support with their career planning whilst still studying – ranging from one-to-one career coaching and advice on job applications to workshops, corporate events and career fairs. The aim is to connect students with potential employers at an early stage and prepare them as effectively as possible for their career launch.
EBS’s international focus also remains a key feature of its profile. Students rate the support for study abroad placements at 4.4 stars. Since EBS Universität was founded, a semester abroad has been a fundamental part of the curriculum. Today, EBS is an integral part of a global network with over 200 partner universities worldwide. Many degree programmes also offer the option of a double degree.
EBS Law School impresses with personalised support and a modern study structure
EBS Law School has once again achieved strong ratings in the latest CHE ranking and stands out significantly from the average of other universities, particularly in organisational categories. Students rate the organisation of the law programme particularly highly (4.7 stars), which stands out significantly from the average at other universities. The support provided by teaching staff (4.4 stars) and the assistance with exam preparation (4.4 stars) are also rated very positively. EBS stands out particularly clearly from the national average with 4.2 points for exam organisation.
A key component of the study programme at EBS Law School is the distinctive teaching structure of the law course. Unlike in many traditional law programmes, students at EBS learn in thematically focused teaching blocks and small study groups. Through intensive engagement with clearly defined areas of law, continuous performance feedback and close support from teaching staff, a structured and practice-oriented daily study routine is created. The modern organisation of the programme is designed to enable students to focus specifically on course content and exams whilst simultaneously developing legal methodological skills and practice-relevant abilities at an early stage.
EBS Universität: Excellent study conditions with a personal touch
“The results of the CHE ranking once again confirm our commitment to offering students an academically excellent yet practice-oriented education in a personal environment,” says University Rector Prof. Dr Henning Werner. “We are particularly pleased that our students rate the individual support, the close links to the professional world and the high quality of teaching so highly.”
The CHE university ranking is published in the ZEIT Study Guide 2026/27 and is available online at HeyStudium.
