Signing the Golden Book: EBS Law School welcomes the seventh year
University President Professor Markus Ogorek encouraged the students to keep their sights firmly set on their own goals, and not to be influenced by competitiveness. “It is not good to compare yourselves with others”, the lawyer stated. In his speech he highlighted the special feature of the EBS Law School, which benefits from the close connection to the EBS Business School: “I firmly believe in the interrelationship between business and law. A lawyer can only work well if he/she understands the fundamental principles of business administration, which he/she will have to consider when making decisions”.
During her speech, Student Representative Daniela Polchau enthused about the community spirit at the EBS: “We have small cohorts, we are a small faculty at a small university. That creates team spirit. We learn and live with one another rather than against each other. We do not have to compete with one another for the best grades, as we all have the same goal: to pass our exams well.”
Further speakers at the ceremony were the former Minister of Justice in Hesse, Dr. iur. h. c. Jörg-Uwe Hahn, and Dr. iur. h. c. Christine Koziczinski, Chair of the Law School Board of Trustees. Students and guests also enjoyed a cheerful musical intermezzo by the woodwind trio of the Wiesbaden Academy of Music.
