Visit of Prof. Malgorzata Bogdan at Chair of Prof. Sandra Paterlini
Prof. Sandra Paterlini, Chair of Financial Econometrics and Asset Management, invited Prof. Malgorzata Bogdan from the Institute of Mathematics of University of Wroclaw is visiting FACT Department from February 15-19, 2016. Prof. Bogdan worked on a joint research project on regularization for developing asset management strategies. Her visit is fully funded by the ICT COST Action IC1408 Computationally-intensive methods for the robust analysis of non-standards data (CRoNoS).

Short Biography: Prof. Malgorzata Bogdan is an Associate Professor in the Institute of Mathematics of University of Wroclaw. She completed her PhD in Statistics in 1996 at Wroclaw University of Technology and received her habilitation in 2011 at the Institute of Computer Science of Polish Academy of Sciences. She worked as a Visiting Professor at University of Washington, Purdue University, University of Vienna and Stanford University. In 2007 and 2008 she a “Women for Math Science Award” from the Department of Mathematics of Munich University of Technology. In 2012/2013 she spent 9 months as the Fullbright Scholar at Stanford University. Dr. Bogdan works on developing statistical methodology for the analysis of high dimensional data. She has published more than 40 papers and serves on the editorial board of “Scientific Reports” and “Statistics”.
