As an internationally-oriented university with numerous partner universities, encountering other nations and cultures is an integral part of the EBS curriculum. The incoming EBS students once again presented their home universities at this year’s Study Abroad Fair. In addition to the films they showed, they also brought small treats and drinks from their home countries: the visitors very much enjoyed the delicious walnut cake from Slovenia, Danish beer and dried fruits from Taiwan. This year, 20 partner universities from twelve countries took part, including Canada, Australia, China, France and many other countries.
In 2017, 181 exchange students studied at the EBS. As in the previous year, four Israeli students were also able to join, thanks to the EU “Erasmus+” Programme. “It is especially important to maintain contact with our Israeli partners. This is our contribution, at an academic level, towards good German-Israeli relations”, says David Windsor, Associate Dean International Affairs. For the last two years, the EBS Universität has been cooperating with the renowned Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel’s most distinguished university.
The Programme “Erasmus+” serves to strengthen intercultural skills, personal development and student employability. Reaching beyond European boundaries, the programme is intended to make the European Erasmus area and the European Union attractive as a centre of study and research.
At present, the EBS has a partner network of over 230 universities worldwide, for instance Emory University (USA), Cornell University (USA), The University of Hong Kong, the National University of Singapore and the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi (Italy). Moreover, together with various partner universities, the EBS offers double degrees (DD), both in the bachelor and master programmes.
