EBS students develop business model innovations for Funke Mediengruppe
EBS students visit headquarter of Funke Mediengruppe
As part of the “Consulting Field Study” course in the Master’s and MBA programmes at EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, students have developed three different business model innovations on behalf of Funke Mediengruppe. The students have now been invited to the group’s headquarters in Essen.
The students were accompanied by the two course leaders Christopher Steinert and Oliver Silbernagel, who are employed at the Chair of Strategic Management (Prof. Dr. Christian Landau) as research assistants and are doing their doctorate there. Mr. Steinert and Mr. Silbernagel accompanied the students on their way from the initial kick-off via first concepts to the final presentation and ensured the quality of the results. After lunch in the new canteen and the presentation of the results to the board, the group was guided through the new corporate headquarters. Among other things, the largest German digital news wall, the “Kiosk 2.0” and the central newsroom were shown.
Consulting Field Studies are courses in which a company approaches students with a specific question and asks them for a detailed solution. At the end of the semester, the students present a final presentation to the customer. The customer is given a conceptual and often quantitative answer to the original question. As is usual in professional management consulting, this is followed by a discussion round.
