An investment in the heart of EBS Universität: New Forum opened
The new building is characterised by many exposed concrete, wood and glass and is half sunk into the ground not to overshadow the historic castle. The 130-square-meter facility can now accommodate 200 people in the barrier-free inner room and on significant steps at the edges. Around 60 students can work at group tables during seminars. When the weather is good, students can spend their breaks on the roof terrace and enjoy the view of the vineyards and the Rhine. Thanks to a generous donation of 150,000 euros from our alumni, which SRH has doubled, the Forum also features the latest technology and study room furniture.
A total of around 5.5 million euros was invested in the first construction phase. Under strict fire, flood and monument protection regulations, we built a new main entrance on Rheingau Street and a retention area for flood protection in addition to the new forum. Likewise, the renovation of the castle’s base, the replanting of the campus with vines, and gardening and landscaping have taken place.
Dr Dorothée Hofer, Managing Director of EBS Universität: “I am very proud that we have now completed the first construction phase and am exceptionally looking forward to work on the second construction phase that will soon begin. I want to take this opportunity to especially thank our alumni and Prof. Dr Christof Hettich from SRH for their generous support!”
EBS Universität would like to thank all generous donors!
