Prof. Dr. Tobias Gutmann teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Technology and Innovation Management and Strategy Consulting, focusing on emerging technologies, innovation management systems, processes, theories and governance, and structured problem-solving. He is also managing the EBS Onboarding Project, which is a unique feature of our Bachelor’s programme in Business Administration, where students have the chance to work on a large real-life case study with practitioners from various companies, including many keynote speeches, interactive workshops, company presentations, and visits, as well as specialized lectures by EBS professors.
Prof. Dr. Tobias Gutmann holds a Doctoral degree from Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG Chair of Strategic Management and Digital Entrepreneurship at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and further degrees in Electrical Engineering and Information and International Management. With about 10 years of working experience in the corporate world, Prof. Dr. Tobias Gutmann has deep insights into business development, strategy, innovation management and corporate venturing. In his last role, he operated internationally at the cutting edge of innovation leading global growth projects for startups in a corporate venture capital portfolio. He has served as an advisor to several multinational corporations to (re-)design their venturing programs and innovation strategies to impact the long-term business. Moreover, he lived in Germany, Spain, the UK and the U.S.A and is passionate about innovation and technology.
Moreover, he manages the Siemens Product Innovation Lab, which addresses new product development challenges at the interface between industry leaders, academic researchers, and students.
