Cost Accounting

The module draws on theories of strategy, organisational behaviour, management control and compliance and brings these together in a problematisation of the notion pair risk management.

Starting with outlining the basic principles of cost accounting, the course then explains the systematic of identifying costs, allocating them within an enterprise and enabling the management calculate costs for products and services. A wide range of different calculation methods are covered, which will be applied and analysed by the students.

This module is designed to introduce legal experts and other professionals with a compliance focus to the topic of cost accounting. Successful participants of the module are expected to understand how management is performing economic decisions based on cost accounting.
