About Julia Lübke
Prof. Julia Lübke, LL.M. (Harvard) has held the Chair in Civil Law, Company Law, Antitrust Law and European Private Law since 1 April 2020.
She studied law at the universities of Passau, Oxford and Heidelberg. She received her doctorate from the University of Heidelberg in 2005 with a thesis on “The acquisition of company shares between freedom of capital movements and freedom of establishment”. After completing her LL.M. studies at Harvard Law School with a focus on corporate law, international trade law and the law of international financial systems, she worked as an attorney-at-law in the capital markets and M&A departments of a large US law firm in New York and London. After her second state examination, she returned to the University of Heidelberg where she was promoted to the status of professor in 2018 with the thesis “Privately autonomous rules of conduct for shareholder succession”. Her venia legendi includes the subjects of civil law, commercial law, company law, business law and European law.
