How artificial intelligence is transforming the property sector
Participants from the Executive School at EBS Universität are discussing current trends in artificial intelligence and their impact on the property sector with students.

As part of the opening evening for the "Immobilien-Projektentwicklung" and “Immobilienökonomie” programmes at the Executive School of EBS Universität, participants from the Executive School met with EBS Master in Real Estate students on campus. The aim of the event was to specifically encourage dialogue between experienced industry representatives and students, and to strengthen lasting networks within the real estate sector. The event was organised by Professor Jan Mutl, who thereby specifically supports dialogue between professional practice and academic education. Participants in the Executive Programmes contributed valuable practical experience and provided concrete insights into current challenges and developments in the sector. The dialogue between theory and practice was a key added value of the event.
Speakers included Jens Boehnlein, who presented the work of the RICS and its significance for international standards and career paths. Zulfukar Tosun provided insights into the activities and networking opportunities offered by IMMOEBS and emphasised the importance of continuous exchange and lifelong learning. A particular focus of the content was the topic of artificial intelligence. Gregor Heinrich and Steffen Baltruschat highlighted both fundamental developments and specific examples of application. The focus was particularly on modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. The presentations highlighted that these technologies already offer a wide range of applications today, particularly in process automation, improving efficiency and providing support in day-to-day work.
At the same time, it was emphasised that the targeted and considered use of artificial intelligence remains crucial, particularly when dealing with complex technical tasks. Rather, the current strength lies in supporting workflows and developing individual AI assistants tailored to specific requirements. The event highlighted the added value of networking between executive participants and students. The exchange between professional experience and academic knowledge opens up new perspectives and creates an important foundation for the future development of the property sector.
