Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Mager, CFA
Ferdinand Mager joined the EBS Business School in 2009. Prior to this he served as an Associate Professor at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. He graduated at the Erlangen-Nürnberg University where he also obtained his doctoral degree and habilitation.
Being CFA charterholder he manages the program partnership with the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and supervises EBS students until the annual CFA Global Investment Research Challenge.
Since 2015 he is Head of the FACT Department (Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Taxation). He was significantly involved in various consulting projects at Deutsche Bank, New York, and First National Bank in South Africa.
Prof. Mager has an M.A. (Master of Arts) in Chinese Studies. Due to this special relationship with the Chinese culture and language he attaches particular importance to the Chinese students. During summer 2015 he had a longer stay at the Beijing Foreign Language Studies University (北京 外国语 学院)
Areas of Research
His current research interests are in the areas of insuring occupational pension schemes (in cooperation with Deutsche Bundesbank) and in market micro structure based on high frequency data.

Prof. Ferdinand Mager teaches in the Bachelor program (Corporate Finance and Valuation) as well as in the Master program (Financial Modeling). In the field of Executive Education he regularly gives lectures in cooperation with the Real Estate Management Institute (REMI).
