Christian Landau was appointed as Professor of Strategic Management in 2016. He is a member of the Department of Management and Economics and the Centre for Digital Transformation at the Strascheg Institute of Innovation, Transformation and Entrepreneurship. In 2015, Christian Landau was a visiting scholar at the University of California Berkeley. Prior to joining EBS Universität in 2010 as Assistant Professor of Competitive Strategy, Christian Landau worked from 2005 to 2010 as research and teaching associate at the University of Technology Berlin and the Institute of Strategic Planning. He obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2010, analysing value creation by corporate headquarters and financial investors. Previously, he studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Technology Berlin and Business Administration at Salisbury University and completed a general studies program at Leibniz Kolleg Tübingen.
Christian Landau works on core topics of strategic management and related topics of innovation. He is in particular interested in dynamic capabilities, business models, strategic and disruptive innovation, open and crowd-sourced innovation, and geographic dimensions of strategy and innovation. His work has been published in internationally renowned journals such as Global Strategy Journal, Long Range Planning, and R&D Management. He is active in the international scientific community as a reviewer for international conferences and journal such as the Journal of Management.
At EBS Business School, Christian Landau teaches courses at the graduate and undergraduate level in strategic management and consulting. He regularly teaches as vising professor in the MBA program at Tongji University in Shanghai. He is also involved in Executive Education Programs, in particular highly-customized offerings for national and international clients for general strategy training and strategic innovation. At EBS University, Christian Landau serves as deputy representative of the university’s senate and is a member of various committees, for example the management committee research.
