The EBS Language Center offers you the opportunity to learn a new language, improve an existing foreign language or prepare for language and entrance tests in the best possible way.

We have taken this important insight into account since the founding of EBS University - it is not for nothing that internationality is an important aspect of our studies. Language and culture play a prominent role in this. With our language courses, we comprehensively prepare you for your stay abroad and your professional future.
Language Courses Learn a foreign language
At EBS University, you can improve a foreign language or learn a new one from our full range of language courses. By gaining an additional language qualification, you can open up other language areas for your study abroad to increase the number of partner universities of your choice.
- Chinese, English, French and Spanish
- Upon request: Arabic, Korean, Japanese, Italian and Russian. These courses are offered at various levels as outlined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Regular tuition enables students to improve their language skills quickly and effectively. The courses run supplementary to the standard curriculum. Students benefit from our certified language teachers’ expertise and learning in small groups in all classes.
- German instruction forms an integral part of our international students’ curriculum in the Bachelor, Master and MBA programmes. In addition to grammar and vocabulary, we focus on listening and speaking skills. An introduction to German culture further enhances the learning experience.

Preparation & Intensive Course Prepare yourself in the best possible way
It would help if you did not underestimate language and general aptitude tests; they require a certain amount of preparation to achieve the desired result. We help you to maximise your test score and achieve success.
We offer intensive courses at various levels to students interested in improving or enhancing their German language skills. The intensive courses in January and August, comprising half a language competence group, are offered before each semester, particularly beneficial to our exchange students. The summer school courses are more comprehensive in May and provide an entire progression level.
A proper level of English is a prerequisite to studying at EBS University. Our students often value the opportunity to improve their English proficiency and learn academic skills to enable the best possible start to their studies. There are two different courses available.
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a globally standardised test to assess postgraduate business programmes’ aptitude. We offer intensive preparation courses for EBS students and external participants.
Course fee: 200 euros
TOEFL is a standardised test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enrol in English-speaking universities and is one of the world’s most trusted and widely accepted English-language assessments.
Our TOEFL iBT preparation courses equip participants with the skillset to improve their skills, gain confidence, and maximise their test scores.

TOEFL® Institutional Testing Programme Test
The TOEFL ITP®-Test provides a convenient and reliable assessment of university-level English-language skills mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference. The TOEFL ITP®-Test belongs to the TOEFL Family of Assessments. This test format is used by colleges and universities for admission to specific programmes; at EBS Universität for the German Track of our Master of Science programmes. Universities, English-language programmes and other organisations have the opportunity to administer a convenient, affordable and reliable assessment of English-language skills.
