The German restructuring market is characterised by a shortage of qualified CROs. The aim of the "CRO Masterclass" certificate programme is to develop experienced leaders into CROs who can withstand any storm. This development rests on two pillars: first, imparting the specific technical and methodological skills required to successfully manage CRO mandates (the training component); and second, personal support and coaching as participants take on their own CRO mandates (the mentoring component). Because sound CRO qualification requires a solid foundation of experience and knowledge, the entry requirements for this programme (see the "Target Audience" section) are deliberately designed to ensure a minimum level of relevant expertise.
The CRO Masterclass Consists of Two Stages.
Stage 1: Training Programme
Stage 2: Mentoring Programme
Stage 1: "Training Programme"
Delivery of the specific technical and methodological skills required (including a final examination).
Stage 2: "Mentoring Programme"
Participants who pass the final examination may apply for the personal mentoring programme.
To be admitted to the mentoring programme, applicants must either already hold a CRO mandate or be in a selection process for one. The aim is for the mentoring programme to be oriented around a concrete, real-world project.
Candidates for the mentoring programme must first hold a selection interview with a panel of experts in order to be admitted to the programme.
Within the mentoring programme, mentee and mentor meet on a monthly basis, with the aim of enabling the mentee to benefit from the mentor's experience.
Step 1: Selection Interview
Candidates for the mentoring programme must first hold a selection interview with a panel of experts. The panel is drawn from an interdisciplinary group:
The expert panel includes representatives from the following groups:
Admission to the "Mentoring Programme" follows a positive vote from the expert panel.
Step 2: Delivering the Mentoring
The aim of the mentoring programme is to provide security at the start of, or during, a CRO mandate through the guidance of an experienced CRO.
Under the mentoring programme, participants are supported by an experienced CRO over a period of one year. This support involves the mentor meeting with their mentee in person at least once a month, to discuss current challenges within the mandate (maintaining confidentiality throughout) and to offer advice.
In addition, the programme aims to make it easier for mentees to access CRO mandates through the network of CRO mentors and panel experts. However, no binding commitments can be made regarding the award of CRO mandates.
