Professor Dr.iur. Dr.phil. Martin Will, MA, LL.M. (Cambridge) holds the Chair of Constitutional, Administrative and European Law, New Technologies Law, and the History of Law.
Professor Dr.iur. Dr.phil. Martin Will, MA, LL.M. (Cambridge) joined EBS Law School on 1 December 2010 from the University of Cologne, where he held a professorship in Public Law. Professor Will graduated from Philipps-Universität in Marburg after studying law, history and sinology. Following the 2nd state examination in law he completed a Master’s degree at the University of Cambridge and graduated with a Master of Law in June 1997. In 1999, he obtained his doctorate in law at the University of Mannheim with an award-winning dissertation on the topic of resources and international law.
Will earned his professorial qualification (Habilitation) and permission to teach in the subjects Constitutional and Administrative Law, International and European Law, and Legal History at the Faculty of Law at Philipps-Universität Marburg in 2007. His professorial thesis was titled “Selbstverwaltung der Wirtschaft”.
Professor Will gained professional experience as a lawyer, among others in larger international law firms. Alongside his legal career he earned a doctorate in constitutional history at the Faculty of History and Cultural Studies at Philipps-Universität in Marburg.
His current research focuses on general administrative law and state liability law (especially with regard to the diesel scandal and the Corona Ordinances), German, European and international public commercial law, internet law as well as new technologies and mobility law (especially electromobility, air pollution control (e.g. so-called diesel driving bans) and autonomous driving).?
