Tarik El Bouyahyani joined the Department of Management and Economics in June 2017 as a doctoral candidate to Prof. Dr. Karin Kreutzer. His tasks include the support in the preparation, administration and evaluation of the Service Learning program at the Institute of Business Ethics, working for Dr. Kreikebaum, as well as the assistance in current research activities of this department.
Tarik has practical experience and a background in the area of international relations and development cooperation, but more recently he started to get involved in the start-up scene with a project himself, which fuelled his research interest in that field. He holds a master’s degree in international relations from Goethe University in Frankfurt and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Philosophy from the Technical University of Darmstadt.
He has worked for different organizations in the field of financial and technical cooperation (GIZ & KfW) with a focus on fields such as good governance, education and health, mainly in East Africa. For his PhD research, Tarik is focusing on the long term effects of Service Learning in higher education and how certain elements of Service Learning and social engagement in general are connected to Social Entrepreneurship as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
