Honorary professorship for constitutional and administrative law, as well as public commercial law
Professor Dr. Thomas Dünchheim has held the professorship for constitutional and administrative law, as well as public commercial law since February 2016.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Dünchheim has a diploma in public administration and studied law at the University of Cologne. From 1999 to 2009 he was full-time mayor of the municipality of Monheim am Rhein and as such was in charge of the departments law, personnel & organisation, town planning and business development. Herr Prof. Dr. Dünchheim has published numerous legal articles and textbooks on current legal issues concerning administrative procedure and administrative procedural law, and also local and commercial law. He has 10 years’ experience at a municipal level as associate, supervisory board chairman and member of the supervisory board in a number of municipal enterprises.
He is head of the industrial group Public Sector of Hogan Lovells in Germany and is a member of the international Global Policy and Advocacy Initiative. Prof. Dr. Dünchheim has been head of the Düsseldorf office of Hogan Lovells since January 1, 2016.
Prof. Dr. Dünchheim advises especially in the following legal fields: state and constitutional law, procurement law, administrative law, highway law, environmental law, construction and planning regulations, food legislation and gaming laws.
