We are delighted to welcome you to our Open Day. This day gives you the perfect opportunity to experience our university up close, gain insights into our study programmes and get to know our unique campus.

 

This website is your digital companion with all the information for your day with us. Here, you will find an overview of the day's programme with directions, a campus map and information on the individual programme items. We have also put together some practical tips to help you find your way around campus and make the most of your visit.

 

Use this day to ask your questions, make connections and get an impression of your academic future at EBS Universität. We will be there to provide you with all the information you might need and look forward to accompanying you on your career path.

Overview

1. Directions and parking

Our campus is located at the following address:

Rheingaustraße 1, 65375 Oestrich-Winkel

 

By car: Follow the A66 (direction Wiesbaden, Rüdesheim) which then continues as the B42 towards Rüdesheim. Leave the B42 at the "Hallgarten/Oestrich" exit. Keep right immediately after the exit and follow the signs to "EBS Schloss". There are plenty of parkings spaces available and these are signposted. Car park P1 is directly opposite the campus, car park P2 is behind the railway line. From P2 go under the railway bridge to P1 and from there to the campus.

 

By train: At Wiesbaden Main Station, take the VIAS/RB-train going to Koblenz/Neuwied/Assmannshausen. Leave the train at the "Hattenheim" stop and cross the railway tracks. Keep right and walk along the road next to the railways tracks. After a few minutes you will reach the campus on the left-hand side.

2. Check-in

10:30 a.m. - Campus entrance

On arrival, please come to the middle entrance of the campus, opposite the car park. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. so that you can arrive stress-free and take part in the first programme item which begins punctually at 11:00 a.m.

 

Check-in will be at the entrance, and you will be given a coloured ribbon depending on the study programme you are interested in. Please have the QR code that you received with your enrolment confirmation email ready for inspection. If you no longer have it, simply let us know your first and last name at check-in. After check-in, you will be picked up by our students and taken to the first item on the programme.

3. Welcome

11:00 a.m. - Forum

To begin the day, we cordially invite you to our Forum, which is located in the inner courtyard of the Main Building. The university management and the student representatives look forward to welcoming you to the campus. Together, they will introduce themselves and give you a first insight into the tradition, vision and values of EBS Universität.

4. Campus tour

11:30 a.m. - Start in front of the Forum

The campus tours begin directly in front of the Forum in the inner courtyard of the Main Building. For this, you will be divided into groups depending on the study programme you are interested in. Each group will be accompanied by a student from the relevant study programme who will guide you around the campus. The students will hold up signs for each group.  

 

This way, you will not only get to know the most important facilities and special features of EBS Universität, but also learn more about life on campus at first hand. Our students will be happy to answer your questions and will give you an authentic insight into everyday student life. Take this opportunity to find out all you want to know about studying and life at EBS. The campus tours end at the lecture room for the respective info session.

5. Info sessions

12:30 p.m. - Forum, Main Building or Walter-Leisler-Kiep Centre

We offer a brief info session with our experienced student advisors for each of our various study programmes. In a short presentation, our student advisors will give you a comprehensive insight into the most important aspects of the respective study programme. You will also have the opportunity to ask your individual questions - be it about the application, the course of study or the various funding options.

 

The info session for the Bachelor in Business Studies programme takes place in the Forum.


The info session for the Law programme takes place in the main building in lecture hall H1. Take the stairs up through the cafeteria to the 1st floor. Keep left and go through the large double doors.

 

The info sessions for the Bachelor in Law, Politics & Economics (room K3) and the Master and MBA programmes (room K2) take place in the Walter-Leisler-Kiep Center in the K rooms. You can reach them via the right-hand entrance by following the stairs down.

6. Trial lectures or Meet & Greet

1:00 p.m. – Forum, Main Building or Walter-Leisler-Kiep Centre (for prospective students)

Following the info sessions, prospective students can look forward to an interesting and informative sample lecture from the respective faculty. This will give you an authentic insight into the respective study programme and studying at EBS Universität.

 

For those interested in the Bachelor in Business Studies, Jan-Christoph Rülke, Professor of Economics, will give a trial lecture in the Forum on the topic "Stability or crisis? The Euro(pe)'s path forward".

 

For those interested in the Law programme, Christoph Wolf, Professor of Criminal Law, will give a trial lecture in lecture hall H1 (main building) on the topic "Shots fired in the student flat".

 

For those interested in the Bachelor in Law, Politics and Economics, Matthias Goldmann, Professor of International Law, will give a trial lecture in room K3 (Walter-Leisler-Kiep Center) on the topic "The law, politics and economics of chocolate".


For those interested in our Master's and MBA programmes, Raša Karapandža, Professor of Finance, will give a trial lecture in room K2 (Walter-Leisler-Kiep Centre) on the topic "From tulips to .com bubble: What financial crises teach us about the value of education".

 

 

1:00 p.m. - EBS Café (for parents and accompanying persons)

In order to make the lectures as realistic as possible, we invite parents and accompanying persons to a casual meet & greet session with our university management and professors in the EBS Café. The Café is located on the ground floor of the Main Building to the left of the Forum. Over a cosy cup of coffee or tea, you can talk to our professors and learn more about the academic orientation of EBS Universität and the cooperation with corporate partners.

7. Get-together and Q&A

1:30 p.m. - Inner Courtyard of Main Building

The day will end with a get-together and Q&A session with our professors, deans, student advisors and students, in front of the Forum in the inner courtyard of the Main Building, where you will have the opportunity to ask your questions in person. Take this opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the academic content, research projects and teaching philosophies at EBS Universität.  We look forward to arousing your curiosity and helping you decide on your future path of study.

 

The Open Day ends at around 2:30 p.m.

Where are the toilets located?

The toilets are located in two places in the Main Building. They are located on the ground floor next to the canteen and also on the 1st floor, turn left at the reception desk.

 

In the Walter-Leisler-Kiep Centre there are toilets in the basement to the right and left of the K-rooms.

Do I need to bring food and beverages for the day?

Your physical well-being is well catered for: various snacks and beverages are available throughout the day in the inner courtyard of the Main Building and the canteen.  In addition, the EBS Café on the left side of the Forum invites you to treat yourself to a real barista coffee or another hot drink and to take a short break in a relaxed atmosphere. So, you can fully enjoy the day.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code for this day. However, we recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather, as some programme items take place outdoors. This will allow you to explore our campus without restrictions.



What should I do if I'm late or cannot attend?

If you are late or unable to attend, please send us an e-mail to Study(at)ebs.edu. This way, our student advisors will be informed and can schedule you for the programme items or arrange an individual appointment for a campus visit at a later date.
