Strategic Business Project
Your thesis, the Strategic Business Project, offers you the opportunity to concentrate on a management topic of your own choice, thereby applying experience as well as theoretical knowledge and learned skills. During the actual module and at the beginning of your study programme, you will be trained in qualitative and quantitative methods of economic research. This enables you to prepare high quality assignments throughout your studies, developing these skills further, culminating in writing your thesis.
You can pursue the project itself in two ways, either in cooperation with your employer or a host company, or by investigating a specific management topic. Previous projects have been conducted in numerous organisations, such as multinational corporations in production, in the service or financial sector, in family businesses, in the public sector or non-profit organisations.
International & with an emphasis on diversity
The diversity of each year is a core element of our programme. Exchanging experience and knowledge already gained is important to us. Our students represent a broad spectrum of academic disciplines, cultures and nationalities. Students from Argentina, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Lithuania, Mexico, Morocco, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States have all participated in the programme.
Our students are generally between 27 and 50 years old, thus ensuring a wealth of experience in a variety of different fields which our students have been able to gain along their chosen career paths.
The study programme itself also has a strong international orientation. For this reason, all lectures and events are held, and all assignments are written, in English. Course contents, for instance the module International Business in Context or Economics for Global Business fulfil the study programme’s internationality requirements. The course of study is, moreover, based on both British and Continental European experience and offers you insight into the leadership positions of an international corporate world. You learn to understand the operating principle behind global markets, to conduct transnational relationships and to further expand your international network.
Focus on management skills & leadership qualities
Our aim is to equip you with sound business administration expertise, to prepare you for management and leadership assignments as well as teaching you intercultural competence and problem-solving skills
The curriculum covers fundamental issues such as Accounting, Finance or Marketing and provides you with sound basic knowledge of business administration and economics topics. Modules such as Strategic Management & Ethics or Leading Change familiarise you with the tasks and circumstances a person in a leadership position must solve and consider.
Communication and conflict management strategies, presentation and moderation skills as well as successful negotiations are integral elements of your study programme. You learn what responsible leadership means, how to approach far-reaching change processes correctly and further develop your social skills.
