Real Estate and Urban Economics
The Real Estate Industry is of crucial relevance for every major economy. Therefore topics regarding Real Estate and Urban economics are of growing importance in a scientific environment. Continuously increasing data accessibility and transparency are constantly improving this process. The so generated insights are fundamental for managerial decisions in the Real Estate management as the acquired new discoveries explain the framework scientifically. Thus the Competence Center of Real Estate and Urban economics is dealing with a broad spectrum of topics for example the demographic change, stricter regulation of residential markets, changing economic and political frameworks as well as the effects of subsidies.
A variety of studies, e.g. the impact of immigration on real estate prices in Germany, were released in the more recent past. Furthermore several articles on the topic of the influence of Green certificates or the home ownership tax allowance were published in connection with a doctoral project. The intention of this Competence Center is to scientifically analyze current trends and problems in order to generate new insights for the Real Estate Industry.
The professors of the EBS REMI are offering several courses in the Bachelor (BSc Real Estate Economics), in our Master (MSc Advanced Real Estate Economics) and in the Executive Education (Real Estate Economist) program as well as in the Doctoral classes. The aim is to teach macroeconomic interdependencies in the real estate economy context as well as the according econometric models.
