The aim of the module is to explain and discuss the patterns and players of globalization as well as the path of internationalization of companies. It provides the requisite frameworks and theories to understand the complex and interdependent environments in which globally active companies, in particular MNEs are embedded.

It also focuses on the implications of the theories for the regionalization of economics activities and sheds light on the side effects linked to this. Furthermore, the course examines the strategy of companies and the challenges of management across borders by analyzing cultural differences and the implications of corporate responsibility and sustainability.
