The EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht again emerges very positively from the latest U-Multirank comparison of institutes of higher education. Of a total of 365 business and economics faculties assessed in the survey, Germany’s oldest private business school is placed in the top group. The EBS scores particularly well in the categories Research Strength, Teaching Quality and International Focus. U-Multirank, one of the world’s largest ranking systems for institutes of higher education, is an initiative of the EU Commission and is supported in part by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE).


The first index of lectures, the purchase contract for Reichartshausen Castle, the official certificate confirming recognition as an institute of higher education – all these documents from the earliest years of the EBS are the cornerstone for a Historical Collection, which was initiated by the University Management and the Business Management in the presence of founder Dr. Klaus Evard. The collection documents the history of Germany’s oldest private business school and is to be extended progressively. On the occasion of the EBS’s 50th anniversary, the archive is to be presented to visitors.


Remarkable social engagement and outstanding academic achievement - each year the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (German Academic Exchange Service), together with German universities, awards a prize to top international students in this field. This is where Simon Attia scored: above all, Israeli-born Simon convinced the jury with his untiring efforts for culturally diverse student life and respectful coexistence on campus. He is the winner of this year’s 1,000-euro prize. The award ceremony took place this week on the EBS campus in Oestrich-Winkel.


Last week, the Silicon valley internet service provider hosted a digital workshop on the EBS Business School campus in Oestrich-Winkel. Students, graduates and local businesses were invited to gain first-hand practical knowledge and to familiarise themselves with with state-of-the-art digital trends.


In the current TTIP and CETA negotiations dispute resolution is a central question. The EBS Law School Arbitration Day on 18 November 2016 focuses on the quest and assessment for improved systems of arbitration.


EBS Universität really undertakes a unique experience: The innovation conference TEDx will set up its camp on the EBS campus in Oestrich-Winkel.


Good economic relations are of extraordinary importance – this applies to both Germany and India alike. The “largest democracy” and fastest growing economy in the world has especially been interested in constantly developing the existing potentials for collaboration and exploiting them more extensively under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in office for two years now. This was emphasized by the Consul General of the Republic of India, Raveesh Kumar, and the CEO of the Frankfurt branch of the State Bank of India, Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh, in the context of a lecture and discussion evening on the German-Indian economic relations at EBS Universität.


As internationally oriented university with numerous partner universities, the contact with other nations and cultures is an inherent part of the EBS curriculum. At the moment, 185 students from all over the world are spending a semester in the Rheingau. The EU program “Erasmus +”, which has set itself the objective to strengthen the international competencies, the personal development, and the employability of students, is of particular importance. By means of its dimension beyond Europe it is to campaign for the European Erasmus region as well as the European Union as study and science location.


Already for the fourth time, EBS Law School welcomes international students starting the exchange program EBS Law Term. Until December, 55 participants from all over the world can familiarize themselves with the topic Transnational Commercial Law (TCL) in the context of four modules. By means of lectures, joint workshops, study trips and social activities, renowned lecturers and practitioners give an understanding of the growing body of internationally unified or harmonized law in the English language.


The Business School of EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht is ranked 12th in the current Financial Times Master in Management Ranking 2016. In Germany, EBS assures its second rank. With that, the Ranking of the renowned international business newspaper proves the high quality of the EBS Master program (MSc in Management) for the third time in a row.

The EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht has appointed Peter Schmidt as its new Chancellor. The experienced legal expert will remain Director of Human Resources and Work with the TUI Deutschland GmbH tourism group until June 30, 2016. In his role as Chancellor from July 1, 2016 onward, he will be in charge of all administration at the University.


The EBS Law School is delighted to announce the excellent results achieved by the first year of students to take the State Examination. In September 2015 the first year of students to enter the Law School took the written part of the State Legal Examination (Juristische Staatsprüfung). Last Friday was the date of the oral examinations, with which the examination candidates concluded their period of study at the EBS Law School – and with outstanding grades. For the Dean, Professor Dr. Markus Ogorek, the results are a further endorsement of the high quality of the teaching and learning concept at the EBS Law School.


The process of change at the EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht has been progressing with considerable success. This week Managing Director Holger Follmann announced a further important milestone in the ‘Change Campus 2021’ change program: for the first time for five years, the University can point to positive capital resources again – and its administrators are confident that a positive result will be achieved in the current business year.


In the new Global Masters in Management Ranking published by the Financial Times EBS Business School at EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht is ranked 11th worldwide, surpassing last year’s ranking of 14th place and consolidating its position in the top group for the world’s best Master in Management programmes. In Germany EBS is ranked in second place.
