Tossing mortar boards in the Wiesbaden Kurhaus: EBS Universität bids farewell to graduates
In the morning, the university said farewell to 200 bachelor students during the traditionally festive ceremony. In the afternoon, 246 master students, including 18 MBA graduates and 25 doctoral students, tossed their mortar boards in the air. Professor Markus Ogorek, President of the EBS, congratulated the graduates on this year’s outstanding results in the final examinations: “Our students’ excellent performance is founded on the close interrelationship between research and practice at the EBS”, according to the trained lawyer.
EBS Alumnus Andreas Thümmler, co-founder and managing partner of ACXIT Capital Partners and the German single malt whisky distillery St. Kilian, encouraged the graduates to become economically and socially involved in society. The entrepreneur is convinced that the EBS gave him the initial impetus to found his company. Thümmler is also committed to various social projects, for instance in the foundation steps for children, and warned the future leaders: “It is important to take time to do something good, because there is still so much to do. We are still facing so many challenges worldwide.”
Further guests of honour included Managing Director of SRH Higher Education, Professor Jörg Winterberg, Professor Roman Poseck, President of the Higher Regional Court Frankfurt am Main and President of the Hesse Superior Court, and former Minister of Justice for Hesse, Dr. h.c. Jörg-Uwe Hahn. EBS alumnus Christoph Stadeler, Vertical Auto Lead EMEA at Facebook and Dr. h.c. Christine Koziczinski, Chair of the Law School Board of Trustees also attended.
