Tomas Falk (born 1975 in Germany) earned his PhD degree (Dr. rer. pol.) in Marketing at the University of Mannheim, Germany in 2006. After his doctorate, Prof. Falk continued to work as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Mannheim. In 2010, he was appointed Professor of Consumer Behavior and Marketing at European Business School, Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Wiesbaden, Germany. In addition, Tomas Falk had been a visiting scholar at the University of Maastricht, Netherlands and the Smeal College of Business at Penn State University, USA.
Areas of Research
Prof. Falk’s research focuses on service management issues such as customer acceptance of self-service technologies, service quality management, and recovery after service failures. He has published his work in journals such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and Journal of Service Research. In 2010, the American Marketing Association awarded Prof. Falk’s work on Brand Productivity with the Overall Best Paper Award at its Winter Educators’ Conference.
Tomas Falk has been appointed Adjunct Professor of Marketing and Consumer Behavior at EBS Business School in August 2014. In addition, he works as an Associate Professor of Marketing at Aalto University School of Business in Helsinki, Finland.
