EBS experts: Prof. Will on the reduction of the Bundestag at hr-info

3 February 2020 | By: Pressestelle EBS Universität

Hardly any other fundamental issue occupies politicians more than the reduction of the size of the Bundestag, which currently has 709 members instead of the 598 members required by law. If the current electoral law is maintained, the number of members of parliament could even rise to over 800 in the next federal elections. Prof. Dr. Dr. Martin Will from EBS Law School is one of the more than 100 constitutional lawyers who, in a highly acclaimed open letter, have therefore urged the legislature to reform the electoral law. Now Prof. Will, who has been teaching constitutional law at EBS Universität since 2010 and has been one of the leading experts on electoral law since his book on internet elections was published in 2002, has explained the complicated legal situation and possible solutions in an in-depth live interview at hr-info.
