In many situations, especially when you are confronted with unexpected challenges, a coach and leader is your most important instrument to be able to make decisions in spite of a lack of opportunity for pre-planning. Reflection and developing personal competencies is the pivotal point in this curriculum.

Our objective

We would like you to be able to … be better able to assess the personal factor in leadership and coaching make decisions more easily, despite complexity in management to research your own history more exactly and make use of this in your work

Concept

This sentence A fool with a tool is still a fool applies to both coaches and also - sometimes even more so - to leaders. They are the people with decisive influence on staff leadership. This is by no means contradictory to the general rule of ‘Structure before Psyche”, which is often used in connection with organisation.
It is still important to see how these structural guidelines are lived and whether these are suitable for the situation in hand and its objectives. Due to management complexity, it is well known that decisions have to be made on a day-to-day basis, which can not always be clearly justified, neither rationally nor objectively, nor classified in a predetermined structure. When making such decisions, both coaches and executives are challenged time and time again as a person, with their own history, their likes and dislikes and well as their behaviour models and attitudes. Coach and executive are, therefore, obliged to identify their models, “pre”-judices and “implicitness” and to discover and develop themselves as important “tool”.

Fees

The seminar fees for the 10-day course amount to € 4,500 plus statutory VAT. These are to be paid on confirmation of seminar participation.

Duration

The seminar is divided up into five modules over the period of one year and focusses on the following:

*Module 1** psycho-social development patterns as influencing variables in the leadership process

Module 2 The balancing act between role and person

Module 3 Leadership’s core competence: dealing with stress and decision-making situations

Module 4 The person as employee: communication and motivation

Location

The seminar takes place on the premises of the EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Oestrich-Winkel.

Miscellaneous Professor Dr. Wilhelm Backhausen will lead the seminar. He is an honorary professor at the EBS Universität and Director of Studies for the Coaching Programme and founder of the consulting company “Complex Change” with the focus on systemic consulting and executive coaching. He has carried out teaching assignments in the fields of systemic management, personnel and organisational development, as well as coaching for many years.
