This is the guiding principle of the new seminars offered by the EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht.
During the certificate course we learned to consider conditions in an organisational context, whereas the purpose of this course is to consider the person’s developmental and psychological character.
The sentence A fool with a tool is still a fool applies to both executives and coaches. For you in particular, personality development is of professional significance for management and staff leadership. This is by no means contradictory to the general rule of ‘Structure before Psyche”, which is often used against the background of organisational issues. It is still important to see how these structural guidelines are lived and whether these are appropriate to the current situation and objectives.
Due to management complexity, decisions have to be made on a day-to-day basis, these are not always clearly justifiable, neither rationally nor objectively, nor classified in a predetermined structure. In cases such as these, both executives and coaches are challenged time and time again as a person, in respect of their own likes and dislikes as well as regarding behavioural models and attitudes.
It is, therefore, a professional challenge to identify their own models, “pre”judices and “implicitness” and to discover and develop themselves as an important “tool”.

The seminar fees for the 12-day course amount to € 5,500. These are to be paid on confirmation of seminar participation.
The seminar is divided up into five modules over the period of one year and focuses on the following:
Module 1 Global challenges
Module 2 Developing the ability to master the situation
Module 3 Leadership’s core competence: dealing with stress anddecision-making situations
Module 4 The economics of awareness
Module 5 Communication styles and motivation
Module 6 The challenges of permanent change

The seminar takes place on the premises of the EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Oestrich-Winkel.
Professor Wilhelm Backhausen will lead the seminar. He is honorary professor at the EBS Universität and Director of Studies for the Coaching Programme. He is the founder of the consulting company “Complex Change” focussing on systemic consulting and executive coaching. He has been teaching in the fields of systemic management, personnel and organisational development, as well as coaching, for many years.
