Teaching and learning approach

Law studies at a glance

The academic year is organized in three terms, each term comprising 12 weeks of teaching. Terms one to four constitute the basic course of studies and are followed by the main period of studies, which includes one term studying abroad in the 7th term. In the 8th term students choose their specialization. After just three years, EBS law students acquire their first professional qualification: the Bachelor of Laws (LLB). In addition and closely coordinated with the law programme, students have the opportunity to gain an additional qualification in the field of business and management at EBS Business School.

Having gained their LLB in the 10th term, students begin their preparation for the first examination in law, which can be taken at the end of term 12 as a so-called "free try" (need not necessarily count as a first attempt). Additionally, completion of the integrated business studies course in just one extra study term can lead to a Master of Arts in Business (MA).

During term breaks, students are expected to complete internships lasting a total of 12 weeks.
