Cooperation between CFA Institute and EBS Business School

This is the first cooperation of its kind with a private German university. In entering into this partnership, EBS joins the ranks of 125 highly regarded business schools and universities in the worldwide CFA partnership network. Ferdinand Mager, himself a CFA charter holder, is CFA Programme Director and responsible for coordinating the programme at EBS. Through this cooperation EBS students will be able to take the examination at the CFA Institute towards the end of their degree programme at EBS.
In addition to a high level professional qualification, both partners, the CFA Institute and EBS, place great value on ethical standards and a sense of responsibility. This is why, extending beyond the content covered in the programme, we have agreed to hold joint yearly workshops dealing with the issue of capital market ethics.
"We are delighted to have gained partnership status with the CFA Institute, confirming the recognition of our finance programme. Students in the Bachelor's programme who specialize in finance will effectively cover well over 70% of the curriculum for the CFA Level I examination. For aspiring investment experts this particular combination of a sound academic education with a practical professional qualification will ease their career start in the finance sector and enhance their career prospects", said Professor Rolf Tilmes during the signing ceremony. This will lay the foundation during studies at EBS for another valuable additional qualification for finance professionals. The next aim is to extend this programme partnership to the Master in Finance programme.
As part of the partnership EBS is able to award up to five CFA Level 1 examination scholarships each year. Furthermore, a team of EBS students will also be taking part again in the CFA Global Investment Research Challenge. In this global competition involving the financial analysts of the future and in which German university teams recently took part for the first time, the team from EBS just missed winning the German final.
