The Emerald publishing group and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) awarded Dr. David A. Wuttke’s dissertation with the renowned Doctoral Research Award in the category logistics and supply chain management. The dissertation, which was defended in 2013 at the EBS, examines the management of financial flows along supply chains. Based on a combination of explorative case studies and analytic modeling, the author gained systematically insights into this new and quickly evolving field. The findings comprise the classification of Financial Supply Chain Management practices, their antecedents and implications, as well as a theory on the adoption of supply chain finance in firms and its diffusion along the corresponding supplier bases.
Multi-Tier Supply Chain Risk Management in Automotive and Aerospace Industries
In mid 2012, the EBS Business School’s Institute for Supply Chain Management – Procurement and Logistics (ISCM) and d-fine GmbH formed a collaborative research team in order to gather new insights into the increasingly apparent challenges in multi-tier supply chain risk management in the automotive and commercial aerospace industries. The team’s ultimate goal was to promote a constructive, solution-driven dialogue between academic researchers, consultants and practitioners in supply chain risk management. Intended as a starting point for dialogue, this study outlines the research results achieved so far. Contributors, representing the academic and the private sector, provided the institutional collaboration and expertise needed to tackle this complex topic.
