Supply Chain Management & Information Systems
Welcome to the Department of Supply Chain Management & Information Systems (SCM&IS)
The SCM&IS Department brings together under one umbrella two of the largest institutes at European Business School: the Supply Chain Management Institute (SMI) and the Institute of Research on Information Systems (IRIS). With 5 Senior Professors, 9 Assistant Professors and more than 40 research assistants ours is one of the largest departments at EBS.
Through our combination of research in Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Process-, Knowledge and Information System Management, Performance Measurement and Project Management we offer a unique scientific portfolio - not only in Germany and in Europe, but throughout the world.
By linking the core competencies of our institutes and chairs we aim to generate synergies in research and teaching. Each of the institutes is active in cutting-edge research areas that are addressed in Competence Centers, while collaboration on interdisciplinary subjects is organized in Centers.
Lastly, we offer a comprehensive range of study programmes, e.g. Bachelor courses, two elective modules in EBS' Master's programmes, a doctoral programme and several executive education courses as well as certificate programmes.
Head of Department is Professor Richard Pibernik. Academic Manager for the Department - and primary contact for department-related issues - is Yogita Bitzer.
