IRIS - Institute of Research on Information Systems
In the current transformation from an industrial to an information era the importance of Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) in business and organizations increases enormously - IT and IS become the essential and crucial "digital nervous system" of any modern economy.
We at the Institute of Research on Information Systems (IRIS) focus on these developments in both business workflows and IT systems. By combining all relevant aspects we develop holistic concepts and solutions for the implementation of IT, IS and applications, and support our students in developing necessary skills and expertise in basics and concepts as well as business applications, preparing them for tasks and executive functions in IT operating companies and consultancies.
With our research projects we aim to improve the implementation and usage of IT and IS in organisations by developing theoretic foundations, analysis methods, development concepts, description models, verification processes and continuous improvement paths for both models and methods. This research is mainly organised in Competence Centres (CC) where we cooperate with business partners (amongst others) in the following subjects:
