Overview
The Institutes Finance, Accounting and Real Estate combine to one of the biggest German Departments of it's kind: EBS FARE Department. We offer our students a diversified and internationally orientated curriculum of highest quality covering the central fields of Business Financing and Accountancy as well as Real Estate Management.
This years calling of Prof. Niels Dechows, PhD (formerly Academic Director of the Oxford Executive Program at Said Business School), Prof. Dr. Falko Fecht (previously at the Deutsche Bundesbank as Research Coordinator) and Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Magers (hitherto Associate Professor at the School of Economics and Finance, Queensland University of Technology in Australia) further strengthened the Department.
The reassigned chairs „Management Accounting and Control", „Economics of Financial Institutions" and „Banking and Finance" perfectly prepared our Department for the current situation on financial markets.
Excellent education is based on excellent research: The FARE Department especially emphasises the idea of research, in particular considering empirical methods that clearly relate to current questions of applicatory banking and business management. The three department pillars "Finance", "Accounting" and "Real Estate" enable us to closely link our bases of research like for example practiced in the field of Risk Management.
We believe it to be our mission to investigate reasons and effects of the crisis we currently experience in close cooperation with our national and international partners, and aim to highly qualify our students considering the newly evolving market situation. It is furthermore our challenge to find answers for questions our corporation partners around the world have to face daily. In course of this we not only investigate with those partners, but also educate leading managers as part of the "EBS Executive Education", which is covered in both research and teaching by a close cooperation of all subdivisions of the FARE Department.
