Prof. Dominique Demougin, Ph.D. was born in June 12, 1958, and is currently Head of Department of Governance and Economics at the EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Wiesbaden, Germany. He received his PhD degree from the University of Western Ontario/Canada and taught several years at universities in Northern America. He held the chair of Public Finance at the University of Magdeburg. At the Humboldt University Berlin he was chairholder of the Walther-Rathenau-Lehrstuhl of Organisational Theory. Since April 2007 he is Professor for Law and Economics at the EBS Universität. In spring 2010 he had an Alfred Grosser Professorship at Sciences Po Paris, Campus Nancy. He was project leader of the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB 649) "Economic Risk", funded by the German Research Organization DFG, and is currently leading a follow-up project on the analysis of institutional change in the presence of contract problems, also funded by DFG. His fields of research are: Law and Economics, Governance, Institutional Economics and Microeconomics. His work has been published in internationally well known journals like the Rand Journal of Economics, the American Economic Review and the Journal of Public Economics. For several years he co-edited the Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics.
