The goal of this module is to familiarize students with key concepts in financial planning and decision-making, as well as company valuation. Applications of new institutional economics in particular serve to train students in analytical and interconnected thinking.
Upon completion of the module, participants will be able to comprehend and independently apply financial theories. They will be able to assess the practical relevance of these theories and relate them to mathematical, empirical, and formal methods.
The course employs cases and problems, as well as classroom lectures and discussions. We will make use of analytical methods and international examples. Written assignments will be due for most sessions. They will be prepared in groups. Each student will be expected to participate actively in class discussion. - Lectures:
