Brandon Burgess, Chairman & CEO, ION Media Networks, USA

"The strong international dimension of EBS degree programmes is ideal for managers interested in the global environment. In my own case, the journey began immediately after I gained my degree and took me to Goldman Sachs in London. From there I moved on to the USA and the area of company strategy, first working for Pepsico and then for NBC. Over time you come to realize that what you have learned at EBS is reflected in your own career. Just recently, my current responsibility, which is concerned with the restructuring and turnaround of a US television channel, prompted me to think back to my time at EBS, which I did with pleasure. Even in those days, I was intuitively fascinated by Professor Drukarczyk's seminar on "Financing insolvency and the cram down rules of the US Bankruptcy Code". And it's such an irony of fate that 20 years later in the USA I revert to using exactly these rules to help a company get back on its feet! I send best wishes to all those at EBS and look forward to my, unfortunately very infrequent, visits to the Rheingau."
Stefan Eishold, CEO, WIGE MEDIA AG
"I chose to study at EBS because of its global scope, the intensive learning experience in small groups and the practice-driven approach. Honestly speaking, the atmosphere at EBS was fantastic and I found the prospect of being able to study with Germany's top students exciting.
The generally accepted hallmark of quality that a degree from EBS offers opened many doors and eased my professional career."
Gerrit Frohn, Managing Director, Leonard & Co. GmbH

"EBS offered me the ideal combination of sound academic knowledge and practical education. This structured approach stood me in excellent stead for my professional life. In recent years, the EBS network has opened doors to me that would usually have remained closed."
Michael Krupp, Senior Partner / Managing Director Frankfurt, The Boston Consulting Group

"EBS offers outstanding, practice-oriented and fast-track programmes with integrated stays abroad and, last not least, an excellent network. What is more, the brand EBS stands for quality. Should my children show an interest in studying at EBS, I would tell them that I have good memories of student life at EBS and studying there certainly benefitted my career. Looking back to 1986, my decision to study at EBS proved to be the right one and an important milestone for my career."
Christoph Marx, Managing Director, Deutsche Bank AG München

Studying at EBS has given me a great feeling of freedom. Thanks to a solid grounding in business combined with international experience, a wealth of job opportunities were open to me when I graduated. I opted for a career in banking and, even today, I still benefit from the knowledge and understanding of complex economic issues and global markets that I gained as a result of my studies at EBS. Apart from that, I made friends and contacts for life that still have a formative and enriching influence.
Tom Meggle, Managing Director UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Louis Vuitton UK

"Caught between what your family expect and your own vague career aims, EBS offers students a close knit, vibrant campus atmosphere and the opportunity to study in an international environment, which enables you to discover and further develop your own strengths and capabilities. And what is more, top grades do not necessarily lead to the most successful career. You also need a positive outlook, a down-to-earth attitude, determination and that extra bit of luck... I shall keep my fingers crossed for you!"
Patrick Müller-Sarmiento: Geschäftsführer real.-Food Real Germany, real.- SB Warenhaus GmbH

- Alumnus '01
"I chose to study at EBS because EBS
- pursues the small group concept, which enables a vibrant exchange between students and professors. It's much more fun to play an active role in studies and only small universities are able to offer this opportunity;
- has an international university exchange network;
- demands and encourages entrepreneurial thinking;
- is a community that lives on after you have finished your studies... many of my friends were or are members of EBS;
- is the foundation for a successful career, since university rankings are becoming increasingly important."
Jens-Thorsten Rauer, Head of Business Development, Hewlett Packard GmbH
"The integrated international study experience, the practice orientation, the intensity and intimacy of the programme were the decisive factors for choosing to study at EBS – and ex post these are exactly the competencies and skills that give impetus to your career development. Just as formative, however, are the friendships you make during the intensive course of study and the alumni network, which is grounded in the unique experiences we have shared at our Alma Mater."
Steffen Schmauss, Discount Channel Leader WE , Procter & Gamble, Geneva
"Even then, EBS was one of the best universities in Germany. The practice-driven programmes, with the opportunity to gather early practical experience in companies, and EBS international focus were the reasons why I chose EBS. In my professional career studying at EBS has certainly paid off and was the perfect preparation for all sorts of things. If I had to take the same decision today, EBS would again be my first choice."
Steffen Seifarth, Regional Vice President, D/A/CH & Eastern Europe, COTY PRESTIGE

"Being able to turn ideas into reality has always been my motivation. Thanks to the special campus atmosphere at EBS and the ideal combination of theory and practice, I was able to do just that. Besides achieving good results, it was just as important for me to gain practical experience. This is particularly easy when surrounded by fellow students who share and stimulate your motivation. Many of us are still in regular contact after all these years, which is what makes studying at EBS such a valuable experience.
When I talk with EBS students today, I still encounter the stereotype of the "typical EBS student"... but the really typical EBS student is far more individual and unconventional."
Jürgen Steinemann, CEO, Barry Callebaut AG

"... I'm now trying to decide how I can convince my son to study at EBS, which was an important milestone in my own life. Why? Alongside a top-class international and practice-driven degree course, at EBS I found friends for life. I enjoyed an intensive learning experience in the Rheingau, Paris and London and gained potential direct access to all EBS graduates (I reply, when an EBS alumnus gets in touch!). I would do the same again today, but perhaps spend time abroad in Shanghai, Moscow, Buenos Aires or Sao Paulo, which unfortunately was not possible when I was a student at EBS."
Astrid Teckentrup, Director Beauty Care D/A/CH, Procter & Gamble GmbH
"I opted for EBS because it offered me the ideal combination of an intensive academic education, a strong international dimension, practical orientation and an efficient programme structure. EBS was an excellent career springboard which, based on my own personal memories, I would recommend to all young students today."
Kathrin Wieland, Managing Director, Save the Children e. V.

- Alumna '90
"With the knowledge and experienced gained in 20 years of professional life, I can only say: If I were able to turn back time, I would still choose to study at EBS!
The programme was extremely well structured, practice-oriented and international. It prepared me for a career in management consulting, communications and marketing, and also equipped me with the skills for managing an international NGO.
Last not least, I found friends for life and, looking back, I spent a (generally) amusing time in the Rheingau."
Maru Winnacker, Partner, Winnacker Transactions GmbH

- Alumna '03
"At EBS I soon learned to work under pressure. Studying at EBS involves getting yourself organized. This helped me tremendously, not only when I started my career, but even today in my management responsibilities. Where others might experience stress, I recognize the challenge. EBS also taught me the importance of an extensive professional network, something which EBS encourages and actively supports: contact to business decision-makers during studies, the strong international dimension with two stays abroad, and close ties with alumni. And what I also appreciate is that even after all this time EBS is like one big family!"
Jochen Zeitz, Chairman of the Administrative Board of PUMA SE and PPR's Chief Sustainability Officer

- Alumnus '87
"Even then EBS was one of the best private universities in Germany. EBS offered us not only an excellent degree programme, but also opened up opportunities to study abroad and gather valuable work experience at international companies. The knowledge and competences I gained, in particular in finance and marketing, stood me in good stead in my professional career. Practical orientation and its international dimension give EBS the competitive edge."
Peter Zieringer, Mitglied des Vorstands der Daimler Financial Services AG für die Region Americas, President and CEO Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA

- Alumnus '92
"When it came to choosing a university, the international and practice-oriented education offered at EBS tipped the scales for me. This ideal combination has proved to be extremely useful during my professional life."
